Typically, an large business or non profit will have to buy a large industrial size paper shredder for their office. On the other hand, a small business or individual will only need a small shredder to shred with. Since they typically have to shred much larger quantities of paper than a normal citizen would, they cannot effectively use a home paper shredder.

Shredders that are supposed to be used at home are not capable of the task an industrial shredder can handle. Unfortunately for business owners, the home paper shredder is just not built for shredding up ample numbers of documents at one time.

Hundreds of documents are easily shredded in one sitting with this type of shredder. The home paper shredder will typically only allow a person to shred five to ten sheets at once.

Which paper should you buy?

Even though a great majority of big businesses will need a professional grade shredder, not all companies will. A large paper shredder might not be the ideal solution for a small business proprietor. This type of business owner should probably just purchase a shredder that was created for the home. Doing so could help the business cut down on costs and increase revenue. There are also many big companies that will not need big shredders for their offices. There is an enormous number of companies that simply do not create enough paper work to make a purchase of a large shredder a viable one.

On the other hand, many small organizations create large quantities of sensitive documents. Businesses that tend to require lots of paper work tend to have to shred lots of paper work. Small organizations that have leasing agreements, contracts, and other documents with sensitive data, might want to invest in a larger shredder.
