When we talk about casino games, one of the most popular banking games played in most casinos is blackjack. It is also called Vingt-et-un in French language and it means twenty-one. The playing item in use is card and is played between the dealer and the players. Usually fifty two (52) French cards are used to play the game. Other casino card games that are similar are pontoon and Spanish 21. There is also British card black jack game which is a cast off (shedding) game.
When it was first introduced in the united state, twenty-one as blackjack is usually called was played in gambling houses. People initially rejected the game and so bonus payouts were offered by the gambling dealers to make it interesting. There are many bonuses provided during that time and one of them was "ten to one payout"; a payout is given to a player who has in his possession ace of spades and any black jack of clubs or spades. This is what gives it the name that remains unchanged up till today. However, the modern blackjack is a player or dealer who is in possession of a card 10 and an ace card of any color.
To start the game, the player will collect two cards first and will start to draw from the remaining cards on the deck until the values of the card reaches twenty one or less than it. Since the dealer will take second chance, the player usually gets to the betting point first.
The casino table where the blackjack game is played is usually semicircular and the players sit at the outer ends while the dealer sits at the flat end facing them. Usually, about one to eight decks of cards are used by shuffling them together. Up to seven players can play at a time but only a maximum of three will make bet to start the game. There is betting box where all the bet will be placed to get position and the player who plays first is the one whose bet position is in the front. The other players are "play behind" ones. The first player is the controller and plays his game first.
Cards to be played are usually placed on deck or on shuffling machine that is very close to the dealer position. The modern game usually starts with one card to each wager starting from the left position of the dealer and in clockwise direction. The dealer takes the card last. Second card will also be distributed the same way. Card can be distributed with the face up or down.
There are many rules for casino blackjack game. One of them is that no player must play at a time on more than one table. Such a player can however make several bets on a single table.
