A Shade Sail is a tool to protect the outdoor areas of any place from strong solar radiation and other natural elements like snowfall and rain. It is termed as "shade sail" as it uses the technology used in building sail of a ship. The curves and the architecture resemble that of a ship's sail but this sail adds to the beauty of the outdoors of a place. It is generally made up of flexible, water resistant fabric that can provide protection from UV radiations as well. Most of the times they are permanently installed but depending upon the specifications, a shade sail can always be set up again as the installation is cheap and easy unlike roofs. Apart from providing shield from the mentioned elements, it has gained popularity because of its fantabulous design and classy look.

Installation plays a very important role as the amount of tension required to stretch it between numerous points (more than three) should be adequate so that it can take proper shade which is required to safeguard against wind storms and drain out rain water. Also, space specifications should be kept in mind because these structures cannot be formed in absolutely open spaces as sails do require support of some sort where they can be affixed.
Shade Sail as a Sun Shield:

The membrane used has the capability to absorb most of the harmful UV radiations. It even protects against skin diseases and sun burns and at the same place keeps the place cool with proper air circulation.

Flexible installation:

Because of its flexibility, it can be installed, uninstalled, customized or even moved/shifted to another place on need basis. It can be of various shapes like triangular, rectangular or square, style and color.

Shade Sail as a style statement:

People prefer to visit places with shade sails for all its features defines above. The classic style with which it is built adds aesthetic beauty to the place. Its attractive colors and ability to protect against sun's unbearable heat and other elements makes it so delightful.

Although it is not a new concept it is widely being used these days because of its various advantages and its stylish design its being used in most of the hangout places. It's a perfect mélange of protective shield and a beautiful way to embellish house exteriors, office amphitheatres, colleges, swimming pools and other places. It is suitable for places with extreme temperature and monsoon struck places.
