At Los Angeles BMW auto dealer, your favorite Beamer is just waiting to be brought home today. In 1917, a little known company known as the Bavarian Motor Works was created. From its unique creation of airplane engines, it has stemmed into a producer of fine luxury motorcycles and expensive cars for the whole world.
BMW offers many different vehicles, all labeled by series at their BMW automobile dealer. There are ten different series all labeled after different number and letters. The first series is the 1 series. This type of vehicle is a hatchback, coupe or convertible. They were first produced in 2004. The one series is the smallest of the BMWs and is still being produced today.
The Z series comes standard with a retractable hard top, much like the Mercedes SLK. All are exclusive six cylinders with an offering of a 7-speed double clutch gearbox or six-speed auto transmission. All new z series also come with a newly redesigned interior and exterior than previous models. They also offer a double roll bar behind both seats and a new windscreen, both of these options are standard.
BMW's 5 series is next in the line-up, offered as an executive, mid-sized sedan. Available in different models such as wagon, sedan and progressive activity sedan, there is a model to meet every need. It was tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earned best pick for impressive performance in the frontal offset crash test. The overall design for newer 5 series models is based off of Adrian Von Hooydonk's design with a more prominent grill and less rear end styling.
Series 6 is available in a coupe and convertible edition. The six series was first introduced in 2003. It is the second most expensive car of BMW only following the seven series. The six series was originally designed to look like a shark.
The last of the number series is the seven series. It was first unveiled on July 8th 2008 in the Red square in Moscow, Russia. It is the flagship of BMW.
After the numbered series comes the x and z series. These consist of mostly Suvs. The z series is the only roadster while the first up in the x series is the X1. This car takes the chassis of the 3 series and utilizes a compact station wagon cabin. Until 2013, it will be unavailable in the United States.
The BMW x3 series is the next model of x series. It was first shown in 2010 and is produced in North America. This vehicle is one of the most economical and efficient mid sized off-roaders.
Produced both in the United States and Mexico, is the X5. It is now available in a hybrid version that comes with roof-mounted solar panels. According to Car and Driver, the x5 is able to do 0 to 62 mph in less than 5.0 seconds. It is considered one of the most powerful cars in it's class.
Lastly, in the BMW x series is the x6. It is a mid-sized luxury crossover. It resembles a coupe with the stance of an SUV. Debuting in 2007, it was first produced in 2008. The x6 series is built in North America. The x6 series was used as a safety car in MotoGP in 2009 in Qatar.
