I have asked many people what do think they of physiotherapy. There were some that thought that it was an effective treatment for their ailments. They described that certain exercises made a significant difference to their posture which has helped alleviate pain and discomfort. Many people interviewed liked the fact that they could have a course of treatments from the NHS.
I also asked what they felt was missing with the treatments from the physiotherapist. The main problem with physiotherapy was that there wasn't enough hands-on therapy such as massage. The other disadvantage was that the time of the session was limited. The main thing that bugged people was the long waiting lists that occurred waiting for physiotherapy from the hospital.
Complementary therapies have been a valid alternative to conventional medicine. Osteopathy, chiropractic and acupuncture provide people with the wellness they seek. Treatments range from severe whiplash to nagging arthritic pain.
I asked people what were some of the things they were not satisfied with regarding these therapies. The main dissatisfaction was the amount of money these practioners charge for very little time. One man interviewed said that he was in the room for about 20 minutes and the osteopath wrote notes for about 10 of those minutes. Many of the people were put off by the spinal thrust manipulations. They said they wished there was more massage during the sessions.
Massage was the number therapy that people craved for during my interviews. One of the main benefits of massage therapy is that it lessens depression and anxiety. Stress plays an enormous part in all our lives. A 50 minute treatment is affordable and is generally twice the time you will get with the other therapies mentioned.
Massage therapy is well known to increase circulation. Massage pumps oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs. Massage promotes tissue regeneration and reduces scar tissue. Athletes on any level rely on various sports massages to prepare for competition to help reduce spasms and cramping.
Massage helps alleviate low back pain and improve range of motion. Massage can relax and soothe injured, tired and over used muscles.
In conclusion massage therapy is very good alternative medicine. Treatments can be tailor made to suit you. People feel that massage therapy for the length of the treatment and the affordability factor are two of the main reasons they seek out treatments. I really can't think of any therapy that offers the therapeutic and the pampering element more than a great massage. I would suggest treating yourself or your loved one today to the many wonderful benefits of massage therapy.
