Have you ever hurt yourself at home and feel you can't leave the house because you are in too much pain? The medication that the doctor prescribed is not doing the trick and you feel that you are stuck at home. The good news is that help is available to you. Home visits by qualified professional therapists are becoming ever so popular. There are two main advantages to having a therapist come to you.
Firstly the main benefit is that you may be immobile. There have been so many cases where the person is in so much discomfort that they can't make it in to a clinic. The therapist can come to you with the proper equipment which will help you get back on your feet.
Secondly many people live on their own and there is no one there to assist them out of pain. Family members and neighbors may not be readily available to give help. The main benefit of contacting a professional mobile therapist is that you don't have to feel vulnerable for too long.
The professional therapist should be well qualified and come highly recommended. The therapist should be well established in the local community. Most importantly the therapist should be trustworthy and personable. I can't think of anything that is more off putting than a therapist who is rude and uncaring. Family and friends should by all means check out the therapist themselves before passing on the phone number.
I really can't stress the importance of trust and safety with a home visit. You should feel quite comfortable with your therapist. The therapist is coming to you and if you are elderly trust and safety is vital. You need to know that your valuable possessions will still be with you after the therapist leaves. I have heard of these cases where the vulnerable person is robbed. I would never advise anyone to just pick someone out "of the book". These so called therapists can easily scope your home and be long gone before you know what happened.
In conclusion I will say the best advice I can offer is to ask a ton of questions of the therapist. I would say to meet the therapist before you even think of having them in your home. The whole idea of the home visit is that you are vulnerable. The best thing to do is spend the time getting to know your therapist before you have them in your home. You need proper care. The best thing to remember is that good quality professionalism is available with just a phone call with the right therapist.
