I have never been too impressed with BigCommerce Templates but in a turn of events, I'm going to tell you why they're not too bad, and why you should be using them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fanboy of BigCommerce templates, but in this article I will clear this up why this is just want you need to help your website turn those eyes of people looking at your products into customers! Wouldn't you like that?.

Getting a template made up from scratch is high cost. How much is one from BigCommerce, how about free? Are you saying Yes Please right now?.

In saying that, I’m all for designing a custom design - but more on that later. The BigCommerce templates are what you would call standard design. If you’re looking to stand out and get millions of people to talk about you, standard is not what you go for.

But if you’re looking for a no nonsense approach to selling your products a BigCommerce Template might just be what you need.

One of the big words on the Internet in terms of design is Standard. Standard comes with it trust and usability.Therefore anything that looks standard, no matter how dull it might look actually helps you out

You don't want to confused your website visitors. That's actually the last thing you want to do, so with them knowing where to find the newsletter, the best seller list and other elements on the page very easily, you're doing yourself a big favor. All this stuff helps the sales process in a big way. The more frustration, the less likely that visitor will purchase anything from you.

Alright, so are you sticking with a BigCommerce template? Hey it's free remember, and from what I just said above it sound like it should work.

Of course there are times when you need a custom design. Some marketplace even require you to have something different on display so in this situation of course you should use a custom design - I'm all for that.

Two ways to get this stuff done. They both require you to hire a designer and possibly a developer. I’d recommend using a freelance website to search for a designer. To find one of these sites, just search Google for “hire a freelancer”.

You want to brief the designer very well on what your business is all about. Send them certain relevant parts of your Marketing plan so that they understand your business.

Ok so you can either get one of the standard BigCommerce templates and customize it, or you can make one from the very beginning. There will no doubt be more time and money spent if you make it on your own right from the very beginning so make sure if this is really important to do.
