Buying backlinks in the SEO industry is a common practice, yet many keep their secrets hidden in hopes of increasing the longevity of their tactics. The truth is knowledge spreads fast, so mine as well help everyone else along the way. This is a breakdown guide of not only the ways to buy certain backlinks, but specific networks, which will then expand your thought process and enable you to stay on top of the newest trends and techniques.
Suffering from link overload? Relax and realize the various types of links…
Backlinks can come in various forms and degrees of quality. Typically the more quantity you deal with the less quality they possess. For this reason it’s recommended to purchase a mixture to diversify your backlink portfolio.
Quality is usually associated with high Pagerank (which is the trust Google assigns a webpage)
Blog Commenting – Zeroing in on high page rank blogs: With this tactic you can find pages that have pre-existing built PageRank trust, and leave your comment along with a link back to your site. This instantly gives you the PR of that site as a backlink. A great way to buy these links is from services on backlinksforum, namepros, digitalpoint, warrior forum and other webmaster forums.
Blog Commenting – Casting a wide net for volume: With the same type of backlink, but a drastically different approach of volume, this technique is still effective. For automation and bulk we’ll turn to a program titled Scrapebox which can find blogs for you to comment on, and post a link back to your site. Like any good program its worth is in its perfection and database building. You have to pay for the program, or someone to do this service.
Article Marketing – Piggybacking off trusted domains: There’s a reason websites such as ehow, about, technorati, ezine, squidoo, hubpages etc come up in the search results for long tail queries (searches with multiple words); the reason is pagerank and it helps its newer pages, in this case, articles rank. The content on these networks should be unique and well written to get accepted. There are a couple dozen to one hundred tier 1 article directories. These can be seen at directorycritic. When buying backlinks for these higher end article directories you are usually paying for the content the links reside within. If so aim for minimum 500 words, but the more the better. If buying the content and submission service it will cost a bit more but be completely hands off.
Tier 1 public article directories are few and far between. You can also use the private quality article directories such as BMR (Build My Rank) and LV (Link Vana). It’s essentially the same as submitting to the public directories, but with a larger distribution and differing ip addresses.
Article Marketing – Putting the “Bum” back in Bum Marketing: If you’ve exhausted the first tier, or simply want more link diversity from various ip addresses, then utilize the articles with no pagerank (there attrition rate is high so don’t use original content). For these tiers you will want to use spun content using The Best Spinner or another spin format program. You can either buy the program or pay someone to write as well as spin your articles. Remember to aim for at least 80% uniqueness when spinning to extend the life of your content.
While were deep in the trenches of mediocrity lets also submit to some of the private article networks that embrace spun content (unlike the tier 1 and BMR and LV which only allow unique content). A few are Authority Link Network, Unique Article Wizard, SEO Link Vine, ArticleRanks, My Article Network, and Article Robot. Again, the price might be a barrier to entrance, so you could offset this by using a service provider that deals with bulk and can cut you a price break. Bulk is your friend and plays its part in the backlink food chain. Be sure to get a couple servings of tier 2 for everything you do, including article directories.
Forum Posting – Credibility and Added Benefits are Key: The upscale way to build links on forums is to create a profile on a site you can either a) talk intelligently about or b) research and look like you care about. When posting, be sure to have a signature link back to your website. Never spam directly in the post and always give full answers and add to the conversation. Buying forum posts can be expensive but these links tend to stick around for a long time, as they are long forgotten by moderators once they hit the 2nd page. There are services for forum link building, which is different from its cousin…
Forum Profile Link Building – Taking Mass to a New Level: The “dirtier” way to build these bulk links is by automation using a program Xrumer. This program automates the process of account creation and posting. You should never post however, and stick with just the forum profile (as these public profiles will allow your link back to your website). Like any program it’s worth is in the list you build and maintain. Some databases have very low success rates (overspammed? Haha), while others have great “stickyness”.
Indexing – Hey I’m over Here! Getting Google to see you Backlinks: Okay, so you built a bunch of quality and not so quality (to put it nicely) backlinks. Now how do you get them indexed? Well, you need to backlink your backlinks! Yes, it’s a vicious cycle, but services such as BacklinksIndexer and IndexBear force feed your links to the search robots helping them all get found to help your search engine rankings.
Blog Creation + Posting – If you build it…then you Have it?: Creating blogs and posting your content is a terrific way to get contextual one way backlinks to your website(s). The problem is registering, verifying, and posting. Luckily there is a software program, SEnuke, that automates the process of signing up to these web 2.0 accounts, along with a handful of social bookmarking networks.
Social Bookmarking – Look at how famous my URL is Mr Search Engine Spider Robot!: Social bookmarking websites allow you to submit specific urls along with title, description, and tags. These are then created as automatic backlinks with the added benefit of being voted on by the community. The great thing is about social bookmarking is links actually become more valuable as more votes enter them, which can be seen as interlinking. Notice how some pages have more trust than others? It’s usually because of a good interlinking schematic. The elite program for this is BookmarkingDemon which automates the process of creation and bookmark submissions; like any of the tools a good database and learning curve are needed to master it. AutoPligg is another tool which submits to Pligg sites; these are basically Digg clones (most popular Social Bookmark website). With thousands of these it could be worth the slight overlap of BMD. Keep in mind, bookmarking is an evolution of directory websites, with added social features and voting.
Website Directories – Some Free, Some Paid, Lots of Headaches: There are thousands of website directories. A top notch curated list can be found at vmoptions. If you want to buy directories your best bet is to start with the older ones, as the newer ones are quick to go bugged, redirected, or parked (probably in valet with your money, ha!). The two you should look into buying are DMOZ and Yahoo, and perhaps even BOTW. Your links will exist on deep, deep pages within these directories so it’s not worth the money to buy a lot of these. To utilize the free directories, manual services are the best (people can submit to ones the machines can’t – sounds like Terminator!) but software such as Submitter Elite or Brad Callens Directory Submitter help alleviate the tediousness.
Renting – Time to Pay your Monthly Fees!: Most things in life are not “permanent”: your cellphone, cable tv, spouse (j/k!), and even the internet service you are currently using are all monthly pay as you go programs. If the purchase makes sense, and the ROI is there why not? The best types are links from high pagerank networks, usually comprised of PR 1-7’s. Sitewide links on actual websites are also common, and will usually appear in the form of header, footer, sidebar, or blogroll links. Be careful to avoid renting links on fake pagerank sites (website owners will redirect the “real” site of value just long enough for the fake one to look legit). A way to get the exact same effect as renting is through sponsoring website themes in hopes of more permanent one way links.
Sponsorship – If Nike can Do it, So you can you!: Many bloggers don’t have a clue about design or backend code, so they resort to premade templates. You can find designers that make beautiful themes, and pay them for the rights to add a link to this theme. Digitalpoint has an excellent auction system, but beware of scammers and poor download rates / distribution of the theme. Typically you will want to sponsor blogger or wordpress themes. Some can yield thousands of results, while the bad ones will just put a dent in your pocket. So you see, renting is actually the more “safe” way to conduct backlink building, but it’s just a matter of pairing up with the right network and meeting your ROI goals.
Automatic Link Programs – No worries about content: There are also programs where you don’t have to do anything other than pay your dues. Outside of the rented sitewide links and high pagerank sites, there are programs such as Automatic Backlink Creator (ABC), LinxBoss, and MyLinkClub that automagically create links on their network of sites (indexing tends to be an issue with most of these because of the lack of unique content). For the most part these networks won’t be as cost effective as the previous methods, but it takes literally zero effort, so could be good if you have a large budget.
