I'll tell you exactly what he did to get these patients and I'll list the best ways to use Facebook to grow your practice. Let's get started!

Why should chiropractors be using Facebook?

  • Sheer size: Facebook has over 200 million users. Facebook is so big that if it were a country, it would be the 8th largest country in the world.
  • Very active and loyal users: 4 billion minutes are spent on Facebook each day (worldwide) and 100 million users are logging into Facebook at least one time per day.
  • Great demographics that chiropractors should love: Two-thirds of Facebook users are outside of college and the fastest growing demographic is those 35 years old and older.
  • Big marketing opportunity: The average user has 120 friends on Facebook.
  • That means if you can connect with 200 of your patients on Facebook, this gives you potential access to 24,000 future patients!

    Here is a three step system to get patients from Facebook that yields patients:

    1. Use Facebook to Get Patients!

    Would you like to know how my client got 12 new patients in a week with Facebook? When he told me he had 500 patients in his patient base but was not on Facebook, I knew he was missing out on a big opportunity.

    I advised him to open a free Facebook account at Facebook.com. Once he created an account, he was able to begin adding Facebook friends. The fastest way to do this is to allow Facebook to import your email addresses and send an invite out to all your patients.

    2. Post a video to get your patients involved with your Facebook page

    You need something interesting to drive patients to your new Facebook page. People love to watch video online. The next thing this doctor did was to post a video called "How Chiropractic Can Help Stop Back Pain."

    He actually uploaded it to YouTube first and then simply placed the video on his Facebook page. Facebook makes this extremely easy to do. More than 10 million videos uploaded each month on Facebook! Video is a great way to get people active and involved with your Facebook page.

    3. Send an email to your patient base

    Once he had his video posted, I had him send an email to his entire base of patients. It encouraged them to check out his new video and to please post their feedback about it on his Facebook page. Then he provided a link driving patients to his Facebook page.

    At this point, patients have received two communications: (1) The initial invitation to become a Facebook friend (2) An email driving traffic to his facebook page to watch his new video

    Because of the viral nature of Facebook and the fact that the average user is interconnected with 120 users, it is very easy to get patients when you are getting people active in your Facebook page.

    This doctor received 12 new patients in a week using this 3 step approach because patients were sharing his Facebook page and video with their friends.

    This doctor has been able to sustain this growth by posting new videos to Facebook and each time sending an email to patients. Every time he does so, it results in either new patients or reactivations.
