Determining market viability for your product is important to achieve success. Confirming the demand or highest searched keywords for your products will dictate how hard you will work for Google’s 1st page ranking. Additionally, it will show you how hard you will have to work for traffic to your site.

Researching keywords and identifying the demand will only increase your success. An effective keyword will not only have high demand, but little competition also. One way to discover the highest searched keywords for a product is to look at the number of monthly searches found in AdWords Google Keyword Tool. Google has a free tool called AdWords Google Keyword Tool that shows you the number of searches on a word or phrase and the highest searched keywords for your entry.

You have some products that you may have found either through Clickbank Market Place or other affiliate websites. Checking the competition and identifying the products demand is the next critical step that needs to be taken. You do not want to select a product that is in an overly saturated market.

Open Google’s home page first and enter in a product name that you have chosen. Listed below the search field is a number that says “About 351,000" results or any number for that matter. This number represents the number of competing pages you will be up against for the keyword or words you entered. This is the first number I use for determining the right product there are other factors that will affect your decision like the number of inlinks and page ranking. For now we will focus on the number of competing pages which should be less then 2,500,000. When the number is greater it is to hard to compete for search engine rankings. Adversely the number of competing pages should not be less then 2,500, because you will have to work much harder for a few people.

It is very helpful to enter your data into a spreadsheet not only so you can visualize the numbers, but it will also keep track of good keywords to use later in future promoting. Enter in the highest searched keywords results from AdWords Google Keyword Tool and on Google’s search. You should have 3 columns:

Keyword/Phrase
Adwords Google Keyword Tool
Google’s Search Results

In a previous article I suggested you choose 10-15 products to market. The reason is as you start to dig deeper into the products competition you will see there are some products that are not workable. You will ultimately be left with 3 products for your niche to promote.

With the help of AdWords Google Keyword Tool you will begin the process of elimination. The selection of products is becoming smaller. You can see your chosen products are becoming grouped into topical areas. You may even have a few products outside your niche. For now we will focus on the ones that are more closely matched to the highest searched keywords. These products will become the theme of your website.
