Different Types of Bridesmaids    by Cornelia O'Hara

Bridesmaids differ from each other, there are those who has already been a bridesmaid before and there are those who will be first time bridesmaids. For most ladies, being a bridesmaid is a privilege while some view it as a responsibility. Both know that they will take part in the wedding and that they should accept their obligation as their friendship dictates them to do so. Accepting the obligation of being a bridesmaid may all be exciting for a first time bridesmaid, but for a bridesmaid with too much experience in being one, she may think first if she would accept another offer again.

For an experience bridesmaid, they know their responsibilities and what is expected of them by the bride. They take their responsibilities more seriously since they know being a bridesmaid is not just a simple walk down the aisle and that they also have some tasks at hand before the wedding day comes.

This will include purchasing their bridesmaids dresses and probably their bridesmaids jewelry, they will also need hair and makeup, transportation and even the bridal shower and bachelorette party. They will also have to take responsibilities over the bridal shower and bachelorette party so that the bride can have a great party without the worries. These experienced bridesmaids are more of an advantage because they already know what is expected of them and they can use these experiences to contribute more ideas towards the pre-parties that they will be having.

For first time bridesmaids, they are more willing to accept everything that is given to them, however, they don't know much about what is expected so it is up to you to explain what they should do and what is required of them before they say yes to you. Some first time bridesmaids may even expect you to pay for their bridesmaids dresses or they may not feel any responsibility over preparing your bridal shower. What they do know is that they need to be pretty for your big day while they walk down the aisle. Make sure that they understand the obligation that is given to them before you accept their yes.

Of course, whatever type of bridesmaid you will be choosing, it is still up to you since most bridesmaids are your close friends so they probably already know what they are signing up for. After all the hard work your bridesmaids are putting, one consolation you can give them is to provide them with Bridesmaids gifts so that you can show them gratitude for their loyalty and friendship.
