EMT training comes in 3 major levels namely EMT basic, EMT Intermediate and EMT paramedics. These levels of training are packaged to prepare EMT students as dependable healthcare providers who can work under emergency situations in various medical settings.
Under each level of EMT training, there are special classes offered. In most cases this depends on the nation and the medical training institute involved. In the US for instance, each state has its own guidelines for the EMT classes and the courses involved.

Generally, the EMT classes are offered all over the states in the US for students who have high school diplomas or the equivalent. There are introductory EMT classes offered in the training programs. In most cases, these introductory classes have little or no differences when viewed according to the various states.

In any case, the EMT classes may vary according to various states. You have to consider taking the required tests and other written examinations that may be offered at the end of the class sessions. Practical tests as well as oral test are also required in some of the states. It's always important for prospective students to make proper inquiries to see if they can meet up with the demands of the training program before thinking of applying for it.

EMT Classes are also offered under the EMT Intermediate training program level. Here, the classes offered are loaded with higher courses which expose the students to higher realms of emergency services.

Under the EMT Paramedics, special classes are also offered to the students involved. Here, they learn the advanced level of emergency services in order to become real professional EMTs.

In most cases, the EMT courses offered do vary according to various states and the medical training institutions involved. There are preliminary or introductory courses offered under EMT Basic program. There are also special courses offered under the EMT Intermediate program. The same scenario is also applicable to EMT paramedics. Most of the courses are tailored to meet the demands of emergency services under diverse conditions. Students under each level of training are expected to be committed to the training courses. They are also expected to take the necessary written and practical tests/examinations in order to succeed as professional EMTs.

Most of the classes and courses offered cover diverse emergency medical aspects such as fractures, heart attack, critical injuries, stroke, bleeding and a lot more. Several hours are spent in driving home the medical lessons for the students who are involved in the training. At the end of the EMT training, successful students are awarded the EMT certification under the various training levels.
