in Spirituality / Metaphysical    (submitted 2008-11-03)

'Feng shui 2009' is an e-book written by me, it is a feng shui guide for the year 2009- Ji Chou (Earth Ox). I have written this book for people who are interested in benefiting from feng shui and yet have no idea how to apply it.

The solar Chinese year of Ji Chou (Earth Ox) begins on 4th February 2009 and ends on 4th February 2010. For feng shui purpose the solar Chinese year is used and not the lunar year.

Chapter II

Taking measurements

This chapter is a step by step guide on how to draw a floor plan, judge the facing and sitting of a house, taking compass measurements for house facing, house sitting and door facing and finally adjusting your floor plan to draw the 8 sectors. This will give you the exact location of all the auspicious stars, inauspicious stars and areas where you should avoid repairs and renovations for this particular year. A quick reference of all the stars and their locations. I have also added a template of 8 sectors, 24 mountains and 12 branches.

Chapter III

Outlook for the 9 grids

This chapter gives a detailed outline of events that will occur in all the 9 grids (center, south, southeast, east, northeast, north, northwest, west and southwest) according to flying star system (san yuan feixing) in feng shui. Besides general outlook of the location, I have included separate notes for offices/business, bedrooms and main doors located in the area. This gives you an idea of what you can expect in 2009 if you use a particular area often especially as a study, bedroom, office or if your main door is located in a particular area. I have included a section on problematic months and remedies.

Chapter IV

Location and explanation of annual malefic stars

In feng shui the quote “prevention is better than cure” holds true especially when you want to conduct earth works, digging, construction, repairs and renovation in any area of your site, compound, house, office or business. It is advisable to avoid the areas where any of these annual malefic stars reside. Incase it is imperative to do repairs works or any form of ground breaking work then do consult the tong shu (Chinese almanac) or hire a professional for appropriate date selection.

I have explained the outcome and written about the location of tai sui (grand duke of Jupiter), tsui po (year breaker), san sha (saam set or three killings), #5 yellow star and #2 black star.

Chapter V

Other stars

Besides the annual flying stars and the malefic stars there are other stars that affect your property. In this chapter I have written about identifying auspicious and inauspicious sectors in your house using the bazhai system as well as knowing your auspicious and inauspicious directions for 2009.

I have included positions of other auspicious stars like yang gui (yang noble), yin gui (yin noble), bo shi (scholar), tsui lu (year income), tsui ma (year horse), tsui de he (year virtue combination), tsui de (year virtue) and tsui zhi de (year branch virtue).

Chapter VI

General outlook of the year

In this chapter I have written about the general nature of this year based on two factors – the bazi of the year and the central annual star. This chapter gives an indication of the political scenario, reforms that will be made, stock/share market performances (includes the kind of stocks/shares that will do well), health problems that will be on the rise, businesses that will do well and general events that will take place in this year.

Chapter VII
