Golf Rangefinder Review -Why Do We Need Them? by TWB

Are we taking unnecessary equipment to the golf course in the way of golf rangefinders? Well I guess it really depends on whom you ask. If you ask a Leupold sales man he would tell you that a laser rangefinder is a golfer's best friend on the course.
On the other hand ask a person that has been playing the same two-three courses and he will probably tell you that walking off the yardages a couple of times is just good exercise. You will get to know your golf course after a while and you do not need the expensive toys.
Then of course the golfer, that needs all of the new gadgets, no matter what they are. I know a person that has golf nets at home to practice swings a portable putter in the house, thinking of a golf simulator for the cold months. He has four rangefinders and still defends his decision on getting them. Some people will just buy anything.
Any one that owns one is going to tell you their rangefinder is the most valuable piece of equipment they have, besides their clubs. It makes you a better golfer plain and simple it just does. There is no more guessing at things that you do not know, like the distance. Never walk yardages again, aim shoot, read, pick a club and take your shot.
They are quick and accurate; the laser models are more accurate than the GPS models. Many golfers own both.
They say they find the GPS unit is much better for unknown courses and for objects that you cannot get a clear site on. They show you an overhead image of the golf course making hidden objects come to eye. You can get GPS golf rangefinder capability on your phone, now that's convenient. It comes in a watch style, strap it on and never lose it again, no need to clip it on your bag.
The laser rangefinder is by far the more accurate rangefinder, by far. You do not need memberships of any kind and no need to download courses. The battery life is far superior than the GPS models and most come with batteries already in the box, ready to use. Exact yardage to any object on the course, the GPS units can be out by as much as three yards. Lasers have more than enough features to tantalize any golfer.
Bottom line no matter what model you take to the course rangefinders will get the distance that you need to make your play better. That is why you need one on the course. GPS or laser they both lower your strokes and are an important piece of your golf equipment.
