The major element that has constituted the greatness in leadership of many of the world greatest icons is their powerful and effective speech. There is no doubt that the likes of martin Luther king and Teddy Kennedy had good speech writing skills and engaged professionals in speech writing process. At one time in life, one will have to give a speech. It could be in a family gathering, church, class, work place or public place. Thus speech writing skills are indispensable. Speech writing is not like any other writing since whatever is jotted down has to be very calculative and purposeful.
Effective writing is the key to an effective communication. While faced with the task of speech writing, one has to consider several factors. The main important element that emerges on top is the sensation factor. This is the factor in writing that brings out the greatness in the person delivering the speech such that the audience is left in awe of the orator. Furthermore, this is the main audience captivating factor in speech writing that determine their attention and seriousness.
Another important factor in writing a speech is the audience. The type of audience will determine the choice of words, the length, content of the speech and the language to use. For instance, if the target audience is children, then one has to consider the figures of speech in process that will captivate children. Children love playing, and this is good for their overall development so when giving a speech to them, some form of imaginary stories must be infused to ensure a good speech that makes them glued to their seats throughout the speech sessions.
There are no standard procedures for writing an entertaining speech. However, when faced with such a task, one should follow the stipulated general steps subsuming: Consideration of the type of audience, the subject and purpose of writing, come up with the best idea possible in that particular process, grouping similar ideas together, creating a caption that will grab the attention of the audience, writing an introduction that will leave the audience with general idea of the whole message, writing the main body with careful considerations of all facts and finally concluding the process conclusively. However, don't forget to include humor when writing. Just as Donald Trump says, humor can build your reputation as an excellent orator. Of equal importance in speech writing is leaving the room for questions from the audience. speech writing skills are essential skills, and that's why politicians or public speakers who have managed to attract the heart of their audience write their own speeches, and sometimes only engages professional editors to help them fine-tune the speech.
