I sometimes get a pimple on the edge of my lips, but I have one that's pretty sore, so I need to know how to tell the difference between a pimple and a cold sore . I've never had one before, but my dad gets them and I've heard they're hereditary. If it is a cold sore, are there any good remedies that don't cost a lot?

How weird is this, it happened a few days ago to me, except my mum always gets them. I got some zoviracs or you can use any other coldsore ointment/cream. I still don't know if you had a pimple or a cold sore . I do know now is that coldsore cream basically got rid of all of my pimples on my face though. Once the thing on my lip went I used it on my face and in days there was a big difference,

On the other hand I can also say nothing is going to make it smaller in an hour. But to get rid of it really fast try "Releev", you can look it up online. It is at walmart. I use it for my coldsores and they are usually gone within a day. Zinc external and internal and also lysine from the chemist or health food store. Stop eating what brings it on; chocolate, nuts, fetta, olives, dried tomatoes. Stay out of the wind and sun.

You can go to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for pills that will make them go away faster than without. You do not need a prescription for this. The pills will need to be refrigerated once you get them home. Also eating yogurt will help. Yogurt has: goodies" in it that will help the coldsore go away. I would call your pharmacist and see if you could get the pills there before showing up. The pills work the fastest. So for now, NO PICTURES. Hope it goes away soon, they can be painful.
