A water bottle is always our good company when cycling a long journey. It keeps us from being thirsty under the hot sun. If our hands become dirty, water bottles are there to help wash off the dirt, too. Most of the bikers will have at least one or two water bottles kept by their side during the racing journey. But do you really know how to wash your water bottle thoroughly and ensure it is completely clean?
We wash our bottle at home when we finish our exercise. We normally clean it by using dish washer soap or cleaner and leave our bottle there to dry out. But after a period of time you might realize that your bottle will still accompany with a smell, no matter how hard or how frequent you try to clean it up thoroughly. This is because there are some tiny little residue built inside your bottle and it very difficult to get rid of even we brush them.
There is an alternative method to solve this problem. First we fill our bottle up with water in half full. Follow by adding a handful of rice grains into it. Tighten up the bottle cap and shake it for about 5 minutes. Then you pour the water and rice grains out from the bottle. Rinse it for a while and clean the bottle again with soap. With these steps, you should be able to clean your water bottle completely and it will no longer smelly.
We exercise because we want to workout and keep ourselves healthy. While focusing on physical activities, we should not omit personal hygiene as well. Clean our water bottle thoroughly is essential towards personal hygiene maintenance and healthy life. With the above simple tip, you no longer have any excuse to carry an unclean water bottle.
