Catfighting is really a sexist, derogatory term describing a brawl involving two women. The very word invokes an image of a frenzied, spinning out of control combat with nails used as principle weapons and also the fighters are just animals.

But, like many terms of injustice, the term has been appropriated by combative women to mean something different.
