Orland is well known for its hot and sunny climate; chances are if you're on holiday here you'll want to cool off at some point. However you needn't worry about overheating as the region has some of the best water parks in the world! This article takes a look at a few of the best that the area has to offer.
Typhoon Lagoon
One of the best Disney water parks in Orlando, a real beauty of a park. This enormous water park features a huge number of rides, including a 2,100 foot long lazy river with overhead waterspouts.
The site also has a wide array of body slides, tube slides and multi-person raft rides; you're bound to be able to find something for everyone. It's also worth checking out the saltwater pool and its great snorkelling opportunities; if you decide to take a dip you can swim alongside tropical fish and tame sharks!
Aquatica at SeaWorld
Aquatica is one of the newest water parks in Orlando, opened in 2008, is part of the fantastic SeaWorld brand. The park is mostly a family orientated experience, with great interactive playground areas for kids and lots of child friendly slides.
The park aims for a relaxing 'day out at the beach' atmosphere, so those looking for thrill slides and whirlpools might be a little disappointed. However, for those with small children this park couldn't be more idea.
With it being one of the more modern parks, and so idea for families, means it fills quickly at the weekends. So if you're planning on visiting then make sure you head down early!
Wet 'n' Wild Orlando
For something a little more exciting take a look at the fantastic 'Wet 'n' Wild' one of the most popular parks in Orlando and part of the Universal Studios experience.
This park has a good reputation for its large array of thrill slides and rides; for those who are feeling brave Der Stuka and Bomb Bay are by far the biggest drop slides in the park, or if you want something a little more challenging try out The Storm, a vortex of water that will suck you in and drop you out through its middle.
The park also features a range of great water sports, water skiing, knee boarding and wake boarding along side areas for relaxing and sunbathing.
