There's some really exciting news if you're a doll lover. Monster High Dolls are the latest creation from Mattel who have just launched a line of dolls that are part of a full entertainment franchise. Monster High Dolls are the cool hip teenage children of the world's most famous monsters. They all attend Monster High where they experience normal teenage moments such as trying to fit in and make friends. Monster High Dolls are a breath of fresh air for their uniqueness which a lot of people will appreciate.

Monster High Dolls are very stylish even though they have a a little bit of weirdness about them. They all look really stylish and freakishly fabulous. Each doll comes with a pet, an accessory, a brush, a stand and a diary with a secret code that can unlock things on the website. The code gives you inside information on new characters, games and activities. The characters are all unique in style and also have a freaky flaw that is a big part of their personality such as Draculaura not being able to see her reflection in a mirror. So let's introduce the characters:

Frankie Stein

The daughter of Frankenstein and his bride. She's 15 years old and comes with her pet Watzit which is made up of all different animal parts.

Draculaura

The daughter of Count Dracula. She's centuries old but wow! she looks amazing. She comes with her pet bat Count Fabulous.

Clawdeen Wolf

The daughter of the Werewolf. She's 15 years old and comes with her little kitten, Crescent.

Lagoona Blue

The daughter of a Sea Monster. She's 15 years old and comes with her pet piranha, Neptuna.

Cleo De Nile

The daughter of The Mummy. She's the Egyptian princess who's over 5 thousand years old and like Draculaura she's very well preserved. She comes with her pet cobra, Hissette.

Deuce Gorgon

The son of Medusa. He's 16 years old and comes with his pet rat, Perseus.

Cleo De Nile and Deuce Gorgon are Monster High's most cool couple and are high school sweethearts. Cleo is the mean girl of the school (every school has one) and Deuce is her super cool boyfriend. Frankie Stein, Draculaura and Clawdeen Wolf are BFF's. Lagoona Blue fits in everywhere.

So far Mattel hasn't released a full range of dolls clothes but that is all to come. Monster High Dolls are a bit bigger than Bratz but until further clothes are available Bratz clothes will fit. The dolls are all articulated with the arms coming apart at the wrists and elbows to make it easier to dress them. This does make them unsuitable for younger children and the fact that the earrings also can be changed. The good news for the younger kids is there is a plush version of the dolls. Yes, Mattel has thought of everything.

As I mentioned before Mattel is planning huge things for the Monster High franchise. There's an interactive website where you can watch animated webisodes. Mattel is planning to release a further collection of dolls called "Dawn Of The Dance" where the dolls will be wearing 80's style clothes to the school dance. A full live action feature film is coming out with Universal pictures which will propel Monster High even further.

Of course a Universal Picture can't be released without a full range of clothes, handbags, shoes, fashion accessories, hair accessories, jewelry, socks, slippers, costumes, you name it Monster High will have it. There's a series of Monster High books written by Lisi Harrison who is the New York Times #1 best selling young adult author which will be released over the coming years. An animated 30 minute special is coming featuring music from "American Idol" star Allison Iraheta.

Twilight has launched a worldwide phenomenon with vampires and werewolves but there's a whole demographic of kids that are just a bit too young for that but are just as equally fascinated by all things ghoulish. Monster High will definitely appeal to them. Monster High Dolls are going to be a monstrous hit.

Let's see, there's nothing on the market like them. They're unique and different and will appeal to not only kids but adults who love collecting dolls. Monster and horror fans will love these displayed perhaps in an office. Besides being a little bit freaky they are actually drop dead gorgeous so if you're into fashion you're going to love them. Monster High Dolls will really appeal to everyone.
