On Recognizing Magic by Gerard Holden
in Spirituality (submitted 2011-05-20)
Magic comes from putting your center into the natural energy within and controlling this energy to harness one's natural abilities to heal, shield, protect, create and live a balance life with nature and magic.
It is often called the "science undefined" as it is an ever-changing system of study and of teaching and of learning. As one goes into a deep knowledge of enlightening oneself by finding once center an individual can unleash some of his or her own amazing potential like controlling the power of the mind such as the precognition and or psychic healing.
Magic can be categorized into two types depending on practice, the one which we either call White or Black Magic. These connotations pertain to its usage of either good (white) or evil (black). The preparations and the rituals are almost similar which one it is would depend on the spell cast at any given moment and the reason behind the casting of spells.
Magic can also be listed according to categories:
? Ceremonial Magic - this is usually called the learned magic or high magic, it is called as such because its ceremonies involves a long, complicated and sophisticated rituals which make use of a number of accessories
? Natural Magic - deals with the natural forces; most of the previous knowledge that falls under natural magic like astrology and alchemy has now been adopted as science, called astronomy and chemistry respectively
? Talisman Magic - involves images or figure that are engraved on objects such as metal and function as a consecrated symbol or emblem which can be use for health or protective measures.
? Alchemical Magic - is chemistry used in an unscientific form.
? Chaos Magic - is a modern day magical tradition; that uses unorthodox methods and strong force on practitioner belief system.
? Eclectic Magic - is somewhat similar to chaos magic. It is often said that eclectic magic is chaos magic, but chaos magic cannot always be considered eclectic.
? Sympathetic Magic - is an imitative magic, the concept is base on the idea that like produces like.
Magic can then be considered as bordering between religion and science, and maybe in my own opinion can be the balance between the two. In a more romantic way of saying religion and Science was once married and they are called magic. They separated for years trying to accomplish each owns path constantly quarreling, always have separate opinions. But one day, they will be joined forces again and once again Magic will be recognized as one.
