Overview Of The Notorious Suunto Core Precision Instrument!
The display is in reverse format, this means the background is in black, and the alpha numeric characters are in silver and white. Adjusting the contrast in the Suunto hidden menu can help, in reality, still not as distinct as the normal black letter on white background. No mistake of Suunto, but just the way the look is. The buttons are responsive and easy to press. To get around through the menus, the "Mode" button and the "View" button need to be pushed in various combination to get what you want. It may appear difficult in the beginning, but when you understand the logical design, it's fairly easy to remember. Give yourself a few days to get used to it.

Compliments: Really accurate ABC. I compare their readings with the actual ABC instruments. The precision is incredible and is better than the Casio Pathfinder in the dust! The storm alarms reacts to the air pressure change precisely as well. The electronic compass rocks!. After you set the course, the bearing indicator would show an arrow and directional words (right and left), to guide you to the accurate course, which is a great feature. User installable batteries which is excellent to save a lot of cash in the future.

Issues: The directional rotation ring is difficult to turn. For those who have finger nails, you'll need to use them, if you nip your finger nails, best of luck. The alarm is gentle and difficult to hear sometimes. The same problem as the Pathfinder. I wish they can make it higher. The wrist strap looks and feels low-cost. The illuminator is a bit dim as well.

Suggestions: This watch has gained a lot of bad reps because of bad quality control in its vendor factory in China. It has been a lot of issues and reported problem. After doing some research, it appears that Suunto has finally repaired the hardware and software bugs. Whenever you buy the watch, make sure the serial number starts from "918xxxxxx" onward. Mine is "944" and so far it's great. You should e-mail the seller, to make certain they send you the latest version as noted above, in that case your brand new watch won't spend most of its life going back and forth in the shipping and delivery trucks.
