Shipping Container Homes and cargo home construction has jumped off the roofs of late becoming one gigantic trend worldwide. Since early 2006, the shipping container house has been viewed from all over the world including many countries such as New Zealand, UK, Australia, USA and many areas of Europe. Many news articles and papers are publishing the latest information on this growing "Green eco-construction phase of late. Europe has recently become a huge leader in the container home eco structure construction era.

It is good to see such a giant leap into this recycling of steel shipping containers that usually rot and stick out in major city ports causing our eyes to strain when looked at. But hopefully not much longer as many of the worlds best architects and construction designers are utilizing these cargo steel container units to the advantage of our suffering environment.

These ISO shipping containers are being used more and more today as not only houses for people to live in but also as emergency shelters, safe houses, and even offices having a style to them and not just looking like a metal box. These containers are piling up everywhere and one big reason for this is because the majority are coming from China as "One Trippers" (one way travel). It costs too much to send them on a return voyage back to its original destination causing a pile up at these ports. I am sure you have seen this and even wondered why you see this more often now days.

Hopefully, we can utilize these container boxes and convert them into livable, breathable healthy dwellings for people in need. Who knows, even an escape vacation home. The cost of these are extraordinarily cheaper than your typical wood construction homes of today. Lets keep the green going and put these units to good use.
