Spiritual Warfare - The Necessity Of Having Your Loins Girded With The Belt Of Truth   by Leroy Feeman

The only way to live the victorious Christian life is by having on the Whole Armor of God. We are in a spiritual warfare with the invisible forces of Satan and his host. This is not a game. Their main purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy lives. The Spiritual belt of truth is one piece of the armor from God and one of our main weapons of defense.

Roman Centurion


Paul describes this armor in Ephesians 6:10-18 and he used the attire of a Roman Centurion to demonstrate it. The first piece of armor mentioned is the belt of truth. This belt was a wide belt made of stiff leather that would keep everything in place as the soldier fought on the battlefield. In battle, the proper fitting of this piece of the armor was of utmost importance.

Present Believers

There is no need for any believer to live in defeat, because God has given us all that we need to live lives of joy, righteousness, and peace. For our protection, God has supplied us with spiritual armor, but we must put it on.

We need this spiritual belt of truth, because there is a spirit of error in the land. Many preachers and teachers are used by Satan to proclaim lies, errors, and half-truths. If one is not standing on 'rightly divided' Scriptural ground, they can easily be deceived.

God has given us this powerful weapon of His Truth that will protect us from Satan's lies and deceptions, and empower us to walk in victory. To experience daily victory, we must put on the belt of truth. We must always have our belt buckled or girded by standing on the truth of God's holy, infallible, and inerrant Word.

God's Word is Truth, and it is full of truths that we need to gird ourselves with. The truth of God's Word is the standard by which all other things in life are to be judged. In the face of many opinions, our response should be, "Nevertheless, what saith the Scripture?" Galatians 4:30 (KJV)

Get in God's Word and learn the basic doctrines:

• God


• Jesus


• Holy Spirit


• Grace


• Salvation


• Repentance


• Sanctification


• etc.

Learning the Truths of God's Word will bring stability into your life. This will cause you to be solid in the faith so that you will not be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine by the trickery of men with their cunning craftiness. You will be able to meet Satan's attacks of lies, errors, and half-truths with confidence. Without knowledge of God's Word, you leave yourself open to lies and error. This is why you need the belt of truth spiritually fastened tightly to you at all times. In Spiritual Warfare, it is the belt of Truth that holds all the other pieces of the armor together.
