Buying an all-in-one machine is like getting different office equipment for the price of one. While very advantageous for those who wish to save money, many of these machines are on the bulky side. Fortunately, there's an all-in-one that's evidently smaller than the rest: the Samsung CLX-3175FN printer with 3175FN cartridges. Its compact form factor with a black finish may be placed just about anywhere for your printing, scanning, copying and faxing needs.

It measures 415 mm (W) x 342 mm (H) x 373 mm (D) and weighs a little heavier than 15 kg. Operating it is hassle-free as the buttons are found on the top panel together with a 2-line display and uses Samsung printer toner cartridge. With the NO NOIS innovation within, it's quiet compared to its all-in-one rivals as it can keep the noise below 46 dBA while doing printing tasks.

Being a laser printer, it can dish out up to 16 monochrome pages and 4 color pages a minute. Such is based on using A4 media, and may still vary based on factors like the computer used or the document's content. This machine employs a 2400 x 600 dpi (dots per inch) resolution in coming up with crisp texts and well-detailed images. The printer language available is SPL-C and there's also a manual duplex support.

There's a 150-sheet input capacity and 80-sheet face down output capacity to help meet your everyday printout volume demands. Supported media sizes range anywhere from 76 mm x 160 mm to 216 mm x 356 mm. Compatible media types include regular paper, recycled, glossy, punched, letterhead, card stock, transparency, envelopes and labels. The monthly duty cycle is set by the manufacturer at 20000 pages.

When you purchase the machine, it already comes with starter toner cartridges in black, yellow, magenta and cyan. The black cartridge can yield as much as 1000 prints, while the rest can yield up to 700 prints each. The toner cartridges remain in place while printing, thanks to the unique design of this machine, so noise can be reduced while operating.

It employs a flatbed type of scanner. It has a 1200 x 1200 dpi optical resolution, although it may be enhanced to a resolution of as much as 4800 x 4800 dpi. There are certain features around for your scanning convenience, such as scanning directly to an application, a network, folder or USB-enabled gadget plugged into this machine.

It's capable of doing both color and monochrome copies. It takes less than 45 seconds for the first color copy to be out, while that's 18 seconds for a monochrome one. Using A4 media sizes, it can dish out as much as 4 color and 16 monochrome copies per minute. You may reduce the document to 25 percent and enlarge it to 400 percent. As a fax machine, it's ITU-T G3 compatible. It uses a resolution of up to 300 x 300 dots per inch (monochrome) or 200 x 200 dots per inch (color). Data transmission speed is 33.6 Kbps and there's a 2MB memory available.
