Some people feel as though they are able to lose weight and firm up other parts of their body but finding a way to lose your belly fat has simply eluded them. Why would anyone find it harder to tighten and tone the midsection as compared to other parts of the body? Simple. There are certain receptors in the stomach area which function differently than other areas. So, if you want to lose your belly fat, there are certain steps that you need to follow.
Do moderate intensity cardiovascular exercises on an empty stomach
More is not better, meaning do not do high intensity cardio exercises on an empty stomach. The difference is that high intensity cardio will burn glucose (sugar/carbohydrates) and not fat. If your goal is to lose your belly fat, you need to be doing moderate intensity cardio. Here is another quick tip. The absolute best time to do moderate cardio is first thing in the morning. That way you guarantee that you are working out on an empty stomach.
Do compound weight lifting exercises
Ok, let me explain this. Yes, if want to lose your belly fat, first and foremost you need to be doing compound exercises. Why compound exercises? Its because they burn more calories. We are talking squats and deadlifts because these exercises not only burn more calories but they also help to add muscle which in turn speeds up your metabolism. A compound exercise involves using more muscles in one single lift. For example, a military press uses your shoulders, back, biceps, and triceps, while curls use little more than your biceps. However, if you want to tone the belly area, make sure you continue to do leg lifts, crunches, and other stomach work.
