Admittedly, first Transformers movie 2007 took many fans by surprise. It was nonetheless refreshing to see reimagined Transformers characters> we have seen many variations of these characters, in different series, manga and Transformer games, but the movie was completely different, very impressive and detailed CGI. But the choice of characters in this movie was a little erratic that goes to Decepticons. As for Autobots, most of the characters, if not all of them were recognizable from the first moment. It’s hard to miss Bumblebee or even Prime, Iron hide etc. On the other hand, I had a hard time trying to find difference between Megatron, Starscream and other robots alike, First of all, Michael Bay surprised us with Megatron’s weapon, I’m not sure if you paid attention but it’s gone. Instead Megatron uses the same kind of sword that Optimus Prime. No explanations about what happened to the arm canon of Megatron’s whatsoever, which in fact, was his signature, some would agree. Yes, Decepticons were not easy to recognize; characters like Blackout etc.
I think that’s the first time when Blackout’s action figures appeared on the market. Because of the complexity shown in each robot in the movie, Hasbro had to redesign toys a little. As for Blackout, there is only 1 difference between on screen version and Hasbro action figures, toy us missing arm mounted weapons. It kind of looks immense when you see the Voyager class action figure, this toy comes boxed in a package with great details.
When Transformed into Chopper mode, Blackout action figure looks pretty much the same as on the screen. Model creators have done very impressive job on making it look like CG model from the movie. As a result, Blackout is as good as it gets when it comes to Hasbro action figures. It’s pretty much easy transform, includes Scorponok form, which is stored in Blackout when in vehicle mode. Along with this figure, there is also a small version of the Blackout, this figure is only 3 inch long and has a limited details and the transformation cycle is also pretty simple.
If you remember, in the movie, Blackout’s helicopter wings are attached to his arm when in robot form, with Voyager Class Blackout action figure you can do the same, remove the blades and mount them to Blackout’s arm as a weapon.
Blackout has grown very popular since the movie, Since the movie, many Transformers games include this characters along with other new transformers.
