The country of Germany is recognized for its variety of absolutely stunning cities, some of which are among the most beautiful in the country and in the world. Munich is one of these cities, and it is even called the cultural capital of Germany. Also, you might recognize the city from Oktoberfest. Even the buildings of this city are interesting, as although many were destroyed in World War II, many of them were rebuilt, giving the city a look resembling itself 100 years ago.

Of course Oktoberfest is a popular thing to do in Germany. Oktoberfest lasts a span of 16 days, with each and every day dedicated to celebrating the national treasure of Germany: beer. The festival covers an area of 100 square acres, and these acres are full of tents selling all different types of beer. If you claim to be a beer connoisseur, you absolutely cannot skip this festival.
On the subject of German cuisine, you definitely want to make time to sample some characteristic German food, such as Weibwurste, the traditional white sausage, Apfelstrudel or apple strudel, and fresh baked pretzels. Of course, no meal is complete without a stein of authentic German-brewed beer.
Marienplatz is the famous large open city square. It can be found in the middle of the city, and it is a good starting point for anyone who is looking to become acquainted with the city. Don't forget to check out the namesake of the square, the big column dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
