Poker is one game that has been around for quite a long time. Over the years it has however evolved given the circumstances. It is played in different forms around the world and there are various tournaments that are also held for poker. So the first thing that a beginner must consider is as to which of the given forms he should choose to master. This basic question might just as well sound simple but actually it is not so. The fact that some of these beginners might aspire to become professional makes it even more important to give thought to the different forms of poker that is played around the globe and are the major attractions of the various tournaments.


The different types of poker games are the H.O.R.S.E. events which combine the Hold'em, Razz Stud or Omaha or better and Dealer's choice. However in India the most popular form of the game is the Texas Hold'em poker and it is basically played in two kinds that is the Sit N go's and the Ring tournaments.

However over the years given the busy schedule of people and the various other interesting forms of the game s which require lesser number of people, this has lost the focus. However this game provides the beginner an opportunity to learn more and more since the main objective of the game is to eliminate all the players from the table till only of the player's remains. The winning player has to win the chips of all the other players.


The second form of the game is the Ring games where the players have no limits imposed on the amount of buy ins and he can play as many number of poker games on the table as he or she wishes to. This form is quite challenging and thrilling at the same time as on one hand there read many variants of the games a player might participate in and at the same time the stakes are high. Another distinct feature is the fees charged by the house from the winner of every pot. A certain amount of the sum earned by the winner goes in the pocket of the house. Thus for the above reasons it is mostly taken by the more experienced poker players.
