What is Google+ and what does it mean for an SEO company? by Syed

The "release" or incorporation of Google+ into search results is only a couple of weeks old, but already Google+ is the source of much attention and debate for everyone, ranging from the best SEO companies to the person who dabbles in SEO on their own site. This interest comes as no surprise really, anything that is 'invite only' always tends to draw more attention, as everyone wants the honour of being invited to use something that isn't readily available to everyone, for the time being at least.
Like with any of the Google algorithm changes that have taken place, we are following the addition of Google+ to try and determine the effect it can have on the way businesses use social media within their search engine optimisation campaign. A search for Google+ will bring up plenty of theories and discussions, but there isn't any definitive information for any organic SEO company to go by. At this stage, we have to assume that any SEO work will continue to be beneficial, but it's one of those things that only time will tell.
Social Media is fast becoming an integral part of online marketing campaigns for many businesses, and is changing the way we interact with others. It also has the potential to change the way we find the businesses we are looking for on the Internet. With the rise in popularity of social media, it was inevitable that Google was going to develop something that would give it a chance of capitalising on the Social Media platform, given its popularity as a search engine.
At this stage, there doesn't appear to be a lot of major changes in the way search results are displayed on Google, but it will be interesting to see what changes will be rolled out once Google+ has truly taken flight. If previous Google and Google algorithm changes are anything to go by, it seems likely that Google+ is again going to have an impact on the way results are displayed, and how rankings are allocated.
However, social media has been an excellent way to capitalise on the benefits of SEO, so chances are that Google+ is also going to work wonders with SEO, instead of replacing it or making it a redundant form of marketing. Social Media actually helps search engine optimisation work for you by bringing in positive reinforcement for your site, be it through links or retweets.
