What's the Difference between Psychic Readings and Tarot Readings?   by Keith Ward

There is nothing really different from a psychic reading and tarot card readings except the use of cards. The tarot cards are often similar to a crutch or tool used by the psychic. You can interpret the cards in many ways, but a true psychic attunes themselves to the person asking the questions and the layout of the cards. They rely more on their psychic interpretation rather than the "book" interpretation of the cards.

Just like other psychic readings, the interpretation of the tarot symbols is the most important part of the reading. With the traditional psychic reading, the reading may feel, see or hear things that others can't giving them insight into the future. If the reader is a clairvoyant, they see symbols or scenes in their head and then must interpret those scenes. The tarot reader is no different. They too interpret the symbols but the symbols come from the client's pick of the cards and the way the cards lay in place.

In many cases, you might consider a tarot card reading a double psychic reading because both the reader and the person they're reading plays a role in the selection and placement of the cards. The participation of the person receiving the reading isn't as obvious in the traditional psychic reading, although it does play an important role. In the traditional psychic reading, the belief of the recipient allows a free flowing connection between the reader and the recipient of the reading.

Both the traditional psychic reading and the tarot card reader may use two routes for the reading. Both can make a general reading of the person's immediate future or both may answer a specific question. In tarot card readings, normally the type of reading that answers a specific question posed by the person seeking psychic guidance uses a specific spread to answer that question. The spread is the layout of the cards that the recipient picked. If you ask a question about love, the tarot card reader uses one type of spread. That spread changes if you ask a question about your finances. When there's no particular question but simply a general look into the future, often the Celtic cross is the most popular spread.

With psychic readings, there is no difference between a general reading and a specific question. However, some readers specialize in specific areas of expertise. One psychic may find his abilities attune better to financial questions rather than love matters and note that in his online profile or signage if not online.

The source of the accuracy of the reading is the same whether you use a psychic reader or tarot reader. The truly good tarot readers use more than just the book interpretation of the cards. They use their psychic ability for interpretation of the symbols, just like the traditional psychic. The masterful tarot card reader also knows that what they read in the cards today is not necessarily what will happen. It's just an indication of what will occur if you continue on the same path. They know that if you change behaviour and heed warnings, the outcome also changes. The ability to help people make the right decisions to benefit their life is often one reason people pursue their psychic gifts.
