Network Marketing Tip #1

Do NOT Pitch Your "Killer" Network Marketing Company to Everyone You know.

I know this goes against what many in network marketing insist upon.

Most likely, it was the first thing your sponsor asked you to do:
<il>make a list of everyone you have ever known. Then you can very enthusiastically bestow upon them the opportunity to join your business!.</il>

I listened to them when I joined my first company.

My insides still shrivel up when I remember how I verbally threw up on my bewildered and very uninterested friends.

Did it work any better for you?

It simply isn't good business to talk to EVERYONE.

Most people are not interested in your business - or any business for that matter.

Do NOT use your very limited time to discuss your business with your cranky uncle Ralph. >Use your common sense.

You must be clear about who is your target audience. That is, who has a high likelihood to want to hear about your business.

General guidelines, for your taget audience in Network Marketing ARE:,

* Business owners

* Prior or current network marketers, or

* A desire to be in business.

(Note: Your target audience for your products or service is much larger than for your business opportunity. But again, use your common sense.)

However, if you are one of the few natural-born sales people, then you can safely ignore this Network Marketing Tip #1.

For the ace salesperson, talking to everyone they met about their business works.

Natural sales people tend to converse with everyone they meet anyway. Because they talk in an engaging manner to so many people, the 3 foot rule technique is a successful business strategy for them.

That is why you hear this advice so often during the weekly calls and training events in network marketing.

The successful marketers, who are also natural-born sales people, tend to gravitate to the high visibility and vocal leadership positions.

It worked for them. Most of these people are completely mystified why it doesn't work for you.

You must figure out what works for you and tune out the rest. That is why it is important to assess your individual skills early on. Then fashion an Action Plan that highlights what you are good at.

Network Marketing Tip #2

Be Clear About Why You are Joining.
A compelling reason, or your WHY.

Unfortunately, many network marketers have a career that peaks upon signing up.

In fact 90% of all business (brick and motor, internet, network marketing, etc) fail in their first year.

The failure rate for network marketing is higher, is more like 94 percent.

It is higher because starting a Network Marketing business is very affordable and very low risk.

This means that many people who would not otherwise start a business, start a network marketing business.

The cost to join is usually low. So low that people do not feel compelled to earn back the cost of their joining fee.

They never start working their business at all.

Your Why is critical to your ultimate success.

What is "Your Why"?

Your WHY is NOT to earn more money or pay off your debt.

Those are great business goals, but they aren't your WHY.

Your WHY is the Reason Behind Why You Want To Earn More Money.
It is what you want out of life and who you want to be and to do.

Is it:
*To travel?
*To volunteer? To help your aging mother?
*To be spend more time with your kids and spouse?

Find your reasons.
Ask yourself:

  • What 3 compelling reasons do I have for joining a business?

  • Three reasons that will spur me off the couch, to turn off the TV, to pick up the phone, and to work your business.

If you do NOT have strong motivation to work your business, you will stop working. You will stop because of fear of failure, perhaps when you hit the inevitable bumps in the road.

Unless you have a compelling reason to be in business, save yourself and your sponsor
some grief and don't join.

So in sum, the 1st 2 Network Marketing Tips:
* Don't blab to everyone about your business. Target your message to those who are likely to what to hear it.
* Make sure you have a strongly compelling reason(s) to be in business.
