Although psychics are a very old tradition, many psychics are still practising today and can still be found across the world giving psychic readings.

Psychics or mediums usually have different gifts and people will visit them for various reasons.

A modern reason why people are visiting mediums is because of the recent recession. Studies have shown that more and more people are seeking advice and help from psychics to help them with financial issues and guidance at difficult times since the recession hit. One person said, “I went to see a medium because I felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel and I needed some guidance about what to do with my family as we were struggling so much when the recession hit us. The medium will not tell you exactly what to do but can guide you and help you to see that you do have a future and you need to look through the difficulty to see where you should go from here. The soothing, therapeutic nature of the reading helped my personal stress levels as well, and I am really pleased that I went to see the psychic.”

Another reason people visit mediums is to connect with someone who has died. Many people find it difficult to let go of loved ones who may have died suddenly or tragically and they need reassurance that this person is okay in the afterlife. In this sense it can be a very worthwhile and personally satisfying profession to work in.”

People often visit psychics simply to satisfy their own curiosities – they want to know what all the fuss is about, or what a psychic might tell them. These kinds of people may go for a psychic reading as a bit of fun or to try something different.
