November is known for a lot of things - Thanksgiving holidays, the start of the dreaded winter seasons, and the beautiful colors of leaves that gently fall to the ground. It's also known as a month when people gain weight, and when chiseled muscles grow start to get covered up with flab - yikes! For the athlete who just can't get away from the delicious Thanksgiving treats that grace tables across the country, this is terrible news. But, there is some good news that comes with the bad. This month is also a month that many avid Beachbody fans will be getting a new fitness program in the mail. With the much-anticipated unveiling of the P90X2 fitness program, it's easy to see why many Beachbody fans are going to be looking more cut during 2012 than ever before.

Differences between P90X2 and P90X

There are several key differences between the original P90X and P90X2. The main difference is the fact that X2 involves the newest wave of training technology. New techniques that have been developed for the top athletes in almost every field have been included in the system such as Post Activation Potentiation, Upper Body and Lower Body, and what P90 workout wouldn't be complete without a plyometric workout like X2 Ploycide!

What Comes With P90X2?

P90X2 comes with an entirely new set of high intensity workouts that have been specially designed by the world's leading trainers for elite athletes around the globe. The basic P90X2 kit comes with 12 DVD workouts, a revamped P90X 2 Nutrition Guide, P90X2 workout guide and a workout calendar.

There is also more P90X2 equipment that comes with the expanded kits. The P90X2 Deluxe kit comes with a foam roller, 2 extra workout DVDs, a 55-cm exercise ball, and 2 medicine balls, weighing in at 8 pounds a piece. These additional tools are not required, but highly recommended.

The P90X2 Ultimate Kit comes with even more goodies. It comes with everything that you would find in the P90X2 Deluxe Kit, as well as a Rumble Roller, 2 medicine balls, more workouts, and Tony Horton's PowerStands. Basically, the P90X2 equipment in the Ultimate kit lets you feel like you have a whole gym in your home. If you have the extra cash and don't already have all this equipment sitting in your garage, this is the kit you wan to get the best bang for your buck.

My P90X2 Review

From the information I have gathered so far, P90X2 is going to take fitness to a new level. If the target audience is P90X-grads and professional athletes, then Beachbody is banking on providing a product that is not for the beginner or fitness newbie. Instead, they are betting that even people who are already fit and live a healthy lifestyle will still be challenged by P90X2. That said, Beachbody must have designed this program to challenge even the most intense athletes on the planet, which is huge! That makes me even more excited, knowing all the research and development that has been put into it. So if you got great results with P90X, imagine how much more ripped you will get with X2!

Should You Try P90X2?

P90X2 is not your average workout kit, and not everyone is ready for it. This is a 90 day program that is to be viewed as a commitment - if you don't follow the workout guide, you won't get the eye-popping, jaw-dropping results that you are hoping for. P90X2 is also a lot more intense than other training systems out there, including the original P90X. For those who are totally out of shape, P90X2 is not for you. I suggest starting with Power90 or P90X.
