I am the author of LESSONS FOR THE LIVING: STORIES OF FORGIVENESS, GRATITUDE AND COURAGE AT THE END OF LIFE. It was awarded the London Book Festival's Grand Prize for best new international book of 2009 I'm a Professor Emeritus of Communicative Disorders at San Francisco State University. For over 25 years I taught, provided therapy, researched, and published in the area of information processing, change, loss, and end of life. l've published six books, written numerous articles and delivered over 100 lectures and workshops throughout the United States, Latin America and Asia. In 2009 I was named by the Hospice Volunteer Association as “Volunteer of the Year.” I also consult on issues of personal, institutional, and corporate change. My published magazine articles, essays, and poems have received numerous national and international writing awards.
